Travelling to SPIEL

By car

If you travel by car, please use the following address for your navigation system: Messeplatz 1, 45131 Essen (former Norbertstr. 2).
You will reach the fairground via the major Rhine-Ruhr motorways A52, A3, A40 and A42 to reach MESSE ESSEN. The signs for the exhibition centre will guide you easily to the fairground where you find around 7.000 ample parking spaces (P1,2,3,5,9,10, Parking for disabled on P6). From there, you can reach the fairground easily on foot or with the exhibition centre bus. P2 and P10 will be approached by the centre bus each 15 to 20 minutes.
Parking is open from 08.00 am and is charged with EUR 6,- per day.

 

By rail

Public transportation (Underground line U11) takes you directly to the exhibition entrances Messe South (in front of hall 1) and Messe West (in front of hall 3). If you want to enter the fair via Hall 6, we recommend both stops (either Messe Ost or Messe West/Süd). If you would like to come via the other two entrances to Hall 1 or 3, please travel to the Messe West/Süd stop.

From the ideally connected Essen Central Railway Station you can reach SPIEL in only 5 minutes with the Underground line 11. Here you will find the schedule of U11.

By Plane

Düsseldorf Airport is only 20 minutes’ drive from the Essen exhibition grounds and is also well-connected by rail. There is a separate information counter for MESSE ESSEN in the middle of the arrivals level of Terminal B.
The Essen/Mülheim Airport is available in addition to the Düsseldorf Airport. From there, MESSE ESSEN can be reached in 10 minutes by car or taxi.

Please note that you can also go to the fairground with public transfer (U11), there is a stop directly at the fair, therefore you can maybe also book a hotel in a city close to Essen, which would be the cities Oberhausen, Bottrop, Gelsenkirchen, Bochum and Mülheim an der Ruhr.
